Witness

Witness (wit·ness)

Witness: somebody who gives evidence after seeing or hearing something; somebody who publicly or on an individual basis, states his or her strong Christian beliefs; a public statement of strong personal Christian beliefs.

Some Bible Passages on Witness:

“He came as a witness, to bear witness about the light, that all might believe through him” (John 1:7);

“… for you will be a witness for him to everyone of what you have seen and heard” (Acts 22:15);

“This will be your opportunity to bear witness. Settle it therefore in your minds not to meditate beforehand how to answer, for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict” (Luke 21:13-15);

“And I have seen and have borne witness that this is the Son of God" (John 1:34);

"You are my witnesses," declares the LORD," and my servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after me” (Isaiah 43:10).

The Method of Jesus

Christ's method alone will give true success in reaching the people. The Savior mingled with men as one who desired their good. He showed His sympathy for them, ministered to their needs, and won their confidence. Then He bade them, "Follow Me."

13. Take your Bible with you, in your hand, when you walk around in the city or in the train (tremendous conversation starter)
14. Place your Bible on your desk at work, or school; when people ask about it, share Jesus.
15. Slip your faith into your daily conversation at work, school, street, train, and elsewhere
16. Don’t hide your faith; be opened about the fact that you are an Adventist
17. Be ready to explain what being an Adventist means
18. It’s OK to pray when other are watching, as long as it is not a display to show spiritual superiority (restaurant, test, game)
19. When a friend tells you of a problem, mention that you will pray for him/her
20. When asked about a daily life issue, don’t be afraid to reply, “the Bible has good counsel about this.”
21. Wear something that identifies you with God and your Church, people will ask (t-shirt, hat, coat, jacket, uniform)
22. Lead or participate in the Week of Youth Evangelism at your local church
23. Be joyful and positive, miserable, negative, and bitter people are not great advertising for God or our Church
24. Use “Holidays” such as Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas to reach people, these are the times of the year when non-Christians are more open to hear about Christ.
25. Use your Facebook, MySpace, YouTube or any other of your online accounts to share hope and Jesus with your online friends
