Revival & Change

Revival & Change

During 2011 and beyond, we will ask the Holy Spirit to repeat and improve His work, as it was manifested through the early Church, and recorded in the Book of Acts, right here among the Youth and Young Adults of Greater New York. We pray for a faithful, happy, united, and active generation, filled with the Holy Spirit, praying without ceasing, mingling with the community in the streets of our cities, ministering to their needs, reaching people in different languages, preaching with power, healing the sick, meeting in the homes to eat and study the Bible together, and baptizing thousands.

We also would like to imitate and surpass the good work done by the teen and young adults who founded the Adventist Movement. We know that with the power of the Holy Spirit, all thing are possible. We want to make New York City, and the towns, and villages around it, “God’s City”.

For years we have heard about Revival and Reformation, two very important words which must become true in the life of a disciple of Jesus. The Adventist Youth and Young Adults of Greater New York refer to this expression as Revival and Change. We see the need for each one of us to be awekened from our old ways and traditions and to be changed. As each one of us comes alive and changes, we believe the church will become much more equipped to reach “God’s City, My City.”

True Revival and Change comes as the result of: Staying connected with the Holy Spirit through Prayer; Reading and following the Bible, not humanly imposed traditions; Meeting together in small groups and in worship to praise God and fellowship, trusting that He is present when we are together. Revival and Change also come as a result of realizing our personal need, rather than always looking at the personal needs of those around us.
